DINO MORAN
December 15, 1970 - April 21, 2019
Although he did love that bike, what he treasured most of all was his family, most importantly his children. They were his joy and the source of infinite pride, the reason he always tried to do what was right, to be an example to them on how to live and how to love. To know his kids is to know that he did that job exceptionally well.
He was hardworking and always willing to lend a hand whenever needed and always took pride in the work that he did. That was clearly evident in the work that he did during his many years at Winakwa Community Centre and that community will surely miss him. Through his work there he touched the lives of so many, both on a personal and professional level and his caring and giving nature was a gift that he shared with so many more in his personal life as well.
Dino was predeceased by his grandparents, Laura and Charles Moran and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Violet Doberstein. He is survived by his wife Lisa, children, Nathan (Ania), Natasha (Anthony), Kalvin and Jenna (Ren). Also, by his parents, Terry (Sylvie), Lorraine (Larry) and Larry's son Alex, his brother Cory (Candace), nieces, Brianna and Kendra, and numerous cousins, his special Aunt Barb and Uncle Kenny. Dino is also survived by his brother-in-law Wade (Maureen), sister-in-law Donna (Ken), and nephews, Kyle (Rachel), Blair, Jeff (Gina) and Randy (Kristen).
Although we are all struggling with this loss, we have all been blessed to have been a part of his life. We can only hope that in time the memories he created will be remembered with fewer tears in our eyes and more smiles on our faces and joy in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at Winakwa Community Centre, 980 Winakwa Rd., Saturday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m.
A special thank you to Dino's 'work family' at Winakwa who went above and beyond to make this possible.
Donations in Dino's memory can be made to Winakwa Community Centre.

Whenever I was in the Windsor Park area, I would always stop by Winakwa CC and visit Dino. He was always so welcoming. No matter if he was busy, he always had the time to share stories and talk about the Community Centre, how the outdoor rinks were shaping up, or talking about the Jets. He had such pride in his community and the people who shaped it. The world lost a great man, but his memory will carry on. - Posted by: David Wightman (Business Relationship) on: Jul 18, 2023

What a terrible loss for everyone that knew Dino. Seeing the outpouring of support from the Winakwa Community is no surprise as Dino was an integral part of the Riverview Community prior to Winakwa. A very special person who made an impression everywhere he went. So sorry to all of you. - Posted by: Sarah Barton (Old friend from Riverview ) on: Apr 27, 2019

I worked with Dino at Riverview CC when we were young lads. He was a solid worker and an even better human being. We could always count on him and we shared a lot of laughs together. I remember seeing him after he became a dad and he was so excited to enter that phase of his life. I hadn't seen him for years and was very saddened to hear the news of his passing. He made an impact on our community with his easy going and caring nature. He made the room a better place when he was in it. The Daycare at Riverview was devastated when they heard the news. To them, he was a pretty special guy and for those that knew him, they would agree. - Posted by: Shaun Hampton (Friend) on: Apr 26, 2019

My sweet caring cousin Dino....I can't believe you are gone. Everyone is completely devastated and in shock. I had great childhood memories with you when my Dad would take me to Grandma and Grandpa's house, you were there to play with. I always asked my Dad," Is Dino going to be there"? Even through the lost years that I was away from the family, it was you who I reached out to and re connected with. The excitement in your voice was so welcoming. I remember you saying," I always felt close to you after all these years".We still were close like we never missed years between. I always felt comfort and a strong family connection with you. I regret not seeing you more.... It was you who brought me back to the rest of the family, which welcomed me with open arms. On that ride you took me on and showed me cool places and great sight- seeing routes, we had such a heartfelt conversation about life, about how proud my Dad would be seeing you and I riding in the wind on your motorcycle. The laughs we had that particular day were gut wrenching, I hadn't laughed that hard ever. It will sustain me for a lifetime and I will carry those memories in my heart forever. It is not fair that you were taken from us too soon, just proves the saying, "Only the good die young"... I hope you knew how proud we all were of you. Be sure to give a big hug and kiss from me to my Dad, Grandma , Grandpa, Aunt Cecil, Lil Cecil and my dad's best bro Marvin. See you on the other side Dino....Love you, Rica - Posted by: Erica (Rica) Chatelain (cousin) on: Apr 25, 2019

We are so sorry for your loss. Dino was an amazing person with the biggest heart you could ever have. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was hard working and cherished his family and friends. He was always planning a ride on a nice day, calling Luc and setting something up. He was so happy the day Luc had to go out of town, which happened to be the place that had his BMW was for sale. He got him to buy it sight unseen for Dino . Dino said he wouldn't take anyone else's word that it was in great shape :) He was so proud when he brought his new motorcycle home. He often said how happy he was that Lisa was riding long distances with him now and how great it was. He often talked about his kids and how proud he was of all of them. He will be missed more then he knows. The community has lost a great soul, he will never be forgotten. - Posted by: Luc and Jackie Turenne (freind ) on: Apr 25, 2019

Dino I will miss time we spent together whether it was travelling to a guys' sport weekend or fixing the plumping. Most of all the pop in visits just because. Right now Lorraine, Alex and I are brokenhearted but I do know that many good memories of you are all around to remind us we had you in our lives for a time. But now you have been called to your next task. Now we will continue on the journey called life with one another all the time better for having you in our lives.
