ALEXANDRA TERESA SENKOW (ELSIE)
(PROKOPSKY)

Peacefully, with family by her side, we
announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elsie Senkow at the age of 86 years on April 27, 2019 at
River East Personal Care Home.
Mom is survived by her children, David (Christine), Donna (Barry Sugden), Norman (Grace), Holley (Stan Gulenchyn), Paul
(Debbie), Barbara Pelletier, and 22 grand and great-grandchildren. Mom's surviving
sisters, Josie, Millie, Florence and brothers, Don, Jim, John.
Elsie is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Prokopsky, her loving husband, and our father William Senkow, and her sister Carol Romanuik.
Mom was born August 21, 1932 and grew up in Prawda, Manitoba. Our mother was an
elementary school teacher, a seeker of
knowledge and loved books. Mom attended Teulon Collegiate, and after four years of education, she began her lifelong dream of teaching. She was a mother to six children, and a wife to our father for 62 years. Mom, and Dad were store keepers, having a
successful business in Gimli and Medika. Mom was a friendly face to visitors to their store, always smiling and quick to laugh. She was hostess of Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving dinners. Anytime we would come to visit there was always food on the
table. Coffee was always on to anyone who wanted to visit. She was generous with her time, and would help out her family, and friends whenever she was asked. Mom was a planner of parties, and loved family reunions, volunteering her time at Prawda Hall, and Nursery School.
Mom was good, and kind. We will cherish the memories of our mother in our hearts
forever. Her mind is clear now, and her body is free.
Our family would like to express their
gratitude, and thanks for the excellent care, of our mother, to the staff of Irene Baron, and River East Personal Care Home. A special thanks to Father Alan Wizinsky for attending to Mother's spiritual needs so quickly.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba followed by an interment at St. Mary Cemetery at Prawda, Manitoba.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dave Jr., Don, Shawn, Ken Senkow, Eric Pelletier and Garrett Gulenchyn
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2
