ALLAN DELANEY
April 29, 1930 - April 28, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Allan James Delaney on April 28, 2019 at Maples Personal Care Home.
He was predeceased by his wife Gloria in January of this year, his parents, Bob and Kate Delaney, brother Bob Delaney, sisters, Alice Baxter and Evelyn Morton and his beloved grandson Dale Ens. He is survived by his loving family, daughter Diane (Darryl) Knight, son Doug (Susan), daughter Doreen (Paul) Ens; grandchildren, Chad, Travis (Jade), Wade (Michelle), Brett (Kirsten) Evan, Jane and Nick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad was born in his family home on Scotia Street in 1930 and met and married the love of is life Gloria in 1951. They resided on Roberta Avenue from 1957 until 2007 when they moved to a condo on Henderson Highway and then to Concordia Village.
Mom and Dad introduced us to Spruce Sands Trailer Park in 1968 and bought their own place in 1972. We would spend all summer at the lake. This is where lifelong friendships were made. We continue to enjoy our time at Spruce Sands to this day. We treasured many times travelling to see family across Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and friends in USA.
Dad was an avid bowler, golfer and curler and spent many seasons at Rossmere Golf and Country Club as well as Arnes Golf Course. He was a huge Jets and Bomber fan and loved watching his golf and baseball as well.
Dad taught us the value of undying love of family and what it meant to be a true gentleman. Dad's wishes have come true; he is now reunited with the love of his life.
Celebration of Life will be on Friday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m., Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberley Ave., Winnipeg.
A huge thank you to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their great compassion and care.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 211 Kimberley Avenue, Winnipeg or Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice.
