JOHN MROWKA
January 12, 1948 - April 25, 2019
He was predeceased by his parents, Stephanus and Rosalia; brothers, Stan and Ted.
He is survived by his niece Teresa (Bob) Ralke; nephews, Darrell and Greg Mrowka; great-niece Robyn Ralke and great-nephew Dylan Ralke.
John spent over 30 years working for Winnipeg Transit until retiring in 2005. While he made a couple trips abroad he was a true north end boy frequenting Kelekis Restaurant and his favourite, Oscars Deli. No matter the season, if a game was televised he was giving it his full attention.
A special thanks to his longtime friend Carl Wozney, who helped him with errands when John stopped driving years ago.
Mass of Christan Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 341Selkirk Avenue. Interment will take place at Holy Ghost Cemetery at later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences to family and friends, I enjoyed working with John at Winnipeg transit. We would often go bowling and playing pool. John was the better bowler and I was better pool player we had, fun miss those days. Rip John. - Posted by: William Snell (co worker friend ) on: May 09, 2019

To John's Family: We have just heard about the loss of John and we are deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful person. He attended our wedding in Thunder Bay 44 years ago with the the rest of the Winnipeg boys (Jacques, Bob, Len, George and a few others) and my husband was so happy that his friends came to our wedding. Lloyd has many happy memories of the good times that were shared with his buddies. You never forget your long time friends even when you move away. It was always nice when we got to talk with John on the phone. Please know that our prayers are with you during this difficult time. We thought about John often and he always had a special place in our hearts. Rest in peace dear friend.
