GERALD ROBERT KENSICK
1939 - 2019
He is lovingly remembered by brother Stan and wife Thelma; sister Evelyn Wood; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Kathleen; brothers, Walter and Laurence; and sisters, Margaret, Mildred and Eileen.
Gerry was the youngest of eight children. He grew up in the West End and attended Tec Voc High School. Gerry remained a bachelor throughout his life. When his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he took care of her until she entered a nursing home. He worked in the printing industry, drove a courier truck in the city, and was employed for about 10 years at Wal-Mart before retiring.
Gerry loved all sports and had an amazing memory for stats. He was particularly passionate about golf, baseball and hockey. Family gatherings gave him much joy where he was able to spend time with everyone from his siblings to his great, great-nieces and nephews. His kind and gentle soul will surely be missed.
We are so grateful for Dr. Macek and the hospital staff for their compassionate care of Gerry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Canad Inns Destination Centre Fort Garry, Ambassador A, 1824 Pembina Hwy. on Tuesday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission.
