TEDDY ZIEMSKI
March 17, 1925 - May 20, 2019
He was predeceased by his wife Anna in November 2006, and his brother Karl of London, Ontario in May 2006.
Teddy's memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Christina, Katherine Muc (Harry), Patricia Marshall (Cam); along with his grandchildren, Daniel (Czarina), Olivia Surgeoner (Robert), Adriana Muc and Lauren and Alexander Marshall.
At 18, Dad enlisted in the Canadian Army and was a veteran of the Second World War, proudly serving overseas with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. He married Anna in 1952. Together they moved into their home which Dad built himself, where they lived the rest of their lives. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything, always having the exact nut or bolt that you needed. After the war he worked as a Carman at the CNR shops before retiring in 1985. He was a lifelong member of the Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society and the Knights of Columbus Council #4107. As a young family he enjoyed camping and travelling across Canada, later he relaxed at his cabin in Lester Beach. Dad loved to travel with mom and together they had many stellar trips all over the world travelling to Europe and Singapore. Dad had a green thumb and prided himself on his garden. His grandchildren always looked forward to his tomatoes and homemade pickles; not to mention his beet borscht.
Many thanks to the home care staff and the staff at Concordia Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Dad's honour at St. Gerard Parish, 45 Foster Street on Saturday, June 8 at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Dad's favourite charity The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
