MARY ALLISON
Born in Brookdale and raised in Steinbach, Mary made a name for herself in the Winnipeg business community, becoming the first female president of the Winnipeg Business Association. A feisty and determined lady, Mary was a fashion maven, a musician (playing the organ in the Baptist church for 27 years), a great cook (keeping her extended family well fed on many a holiday) and matriarch to her many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her loving son Thom Allison and Micah Barnes of Toronto. She is predeceased by her dear husband Milton Allison; and treasured son Bradley Allison of Winnipeg; as well as her parents, John and Mary Engbrecht of Steinbach; her brother John Engbrecht; and sisters, Annie Kehler, Helen Penner and Martha Kemper.
At Mary's request, there will be no service.
The world will be a sadder and
smaller place without her.

My deepest condolences to you Thom and Micah. Your Mom will be remembered as a wonderful, cheerful and for her warmth and compassion. We had many wonderful times with her at West Hawk Lake and Toniata. The coffee pot was always on. Sorry we missed you a few weeks ago at West Hawk. I would have loved to have seen you and give you a big hug. I was very happy to see your Mom and Brad a few years ago at the lake. Hope you will stop by again should you get to West Hawk Lake. I have wonderful memories of your family. Love Margaret - Posted by: Margaret (Shier) Martens (Cousin) on: Aug 10, 2019
