WALTER KISIL
Wally will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Lorraine, his brother, Rick (Monique), his sister, Linda (Murray), nephew, Adam and niece, Leanne, great-niece Avery, as well as his in-laws and extended family. Everyone who knew Wally would describe him as a genuinely good, gentle, kind and caring person and he will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Wally was born in Austria and immigrated to Canada with his parents at the age of two. He lived in Winnipeg and surrounding area since that time. After finishing school, Wally held a number of different jobs throughout the years including working at ARC Industries where he met Lorraine in 1973. They went on to lead a happy and good life together. They were proud to have owned their own home and do some travelling over the years. They had a large circle of friends and seemed to know people everywhere they went.
Wally enjoyed bowling and was in a league for many years. In more recent times, Wally took up woodworking and proved to be very talented at it. He spent quiet time working on his word puzzles to keep his mind sharp. He also enjoyed socializing with his many friends and he would often take walks to the nearby coffee shops for a visit and a cup.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Travelodge Hotel (Emerald Room), 20 Alpine Avenue, on August 21 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a private family interment at Green Acres Cemetery.
Thanks to the staff of SCE Lifeworks and Winnserv for all the support and companionship they gave to Wally throughout the years. Also thanks to the staff in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Boniface Hospital for the great care they provided to Wally during his short time there.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wally may be made to SCE Lifeworks or Winnserv.

I have known Lorraine and Wally for many years. We would get together for coffee or sometimes for a meals. We had a big circle of friends. We would get together for birthdays or Easter or Thanksgiving. Wally used to like to joke around with us and try to steal a baseball cap off you. It was hiliarious. He was quite the character. He will be missed by Lorraine and the gang. We will always be there for Lorraine. - Posted by: Mark Olfert (Friend) on: Aug 09, 2019

I am a staff with SCE Lifeworks and I have been assisting Walter and Lorriane for 3 years. During the 3 years we became good friends and I feel like they are family to me. I am so sorry and send so much love to Wally's family and friends he was a one of a kind. Always made me smile and when we had ladies days he loved it as he was the only man surrounded by whole bunch of women. His love for Lorraine was beautiful, he adored her so much. RIP Wally and know Lorriane is doing ok we got her back always . - Posted by: Cynthia Anderson (Friend) on: Aug 07, 2019
