Clara is survived by her children, Reinhart (Sylvia), Margaret (Kurt) Koberstein, Edie (John) Prefontaine, (Rose) Krahnke, Arlene (Randy) Roller and Lorri; grandchildren, Janaya, Tiffany, Aaron, Ian, Kristine, Elissa, Richard, Ciara, Avalon and Adam; and several great-grandchildren; sister Alma Mueller; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Olga Singbeil, Adina Mielke, Rubin and Theresa Wittmaier, Martha and Reinhardt Schwarz; and many nieces and nephews. Clara was predeceased by husband Erwin (2018); brothers, Walter (2016) and Alfred (2013); son Harold Krahnke (2011); granddaughter Deanne Krahnke (2004); and her first husband, Frank (1960).
Clara was born on March 19, 1930 in Gonschariecha, Poland immigrating to Canada in 1949. Our mother worked for many years at "Eaton's", her favourite store. Her part-time employment provided us, her children with those "little extras".
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Mission Baptist Church, 771 Sargent Ave., Winnipeg with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
The family wishes to say "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts" to Chaplain Dave and Darlene Holland and the entire staff of Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home for your genuine love and thoughtful care of our mother.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Clara to the Chaplaincy Fund, Meadowood Manor Foundation, 102-575 St. Anne's Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 5B2.
