DAVID (DAVE) CHARLES EDWARDS
Dave is survived by wife Joyce; daughters, Barb and Joan Edwards, Tracey (Gary) Smith; stepson Ian (Joanne) Fieting; grandchildren, Bryden Smith (Adriana Todaro), Rae-Lynn and Joshua Fieting; sister Gwyn (Syd) Perkins; nieces, Jocelyn (Brad) Shaler (Ethan, Ava, Kieran) and Kathryn Perkins; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Van De Walle, Shirley (Arnold) Foidart and their families.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lillian; stepfather Dan Levenick; sister Marlene Mouser; and brothers-in-law, Bob Mouser and Ron Van De Walle.
Dave was born August 17, 1938 and raised in Old Kildonan on the original land grant, Lot 27, to the Lord Selkirk Settlers. He was a direct descendant of the Murray Clan and was very proud of his heritage.
Dave was a journeyman electrician and worked on many large projects throughout Manitoba.
Early in his career he was an active member of IBEW and served as President.
The final phase of his career was as a City of Winnipeg Property Standards Inspector in the Neighbourhood Improvement Program. After retirement, he was an active member of the City of Winnipeg Retirees Association.
Dave was a longtime trustee on the Seven Oaks School Board. His 20 plus years included serving on various committees, two terms as Vice Chair and three terms as Chairperson.
Dave was an active member of the community, co-founding the River-West Baseball League. He was also an avid golfer and curler with a longtime membership at West St. Paul Curling Club.
Summers were spent at the family cottage at Winnipeg Beach.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue. There will be a private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, JDRF, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one's choice.

It was with sadness when I learned of Dave's passing. I have many great memories growing up in the 50's and going through high school together. I knew his parents and sisters. We did many 'guy' things during those years, too many to mention. He was an usher at our wedding in 1963. We will always remember.
