Just one more day...what I wouldn't give to wake up in the morning and see you playing cards in the gazebo. It seems everything I do makes me think of you. When I'm driving home from work I take the same highway that you used to take when you went to the lake. I think about all the things you won't see and all the things you have seen. I think about all the stages of your life, job, marriage, kids, and grandkids. I think about all the people that miss you like I do, and it makes my heart ache. Just one more day...no one tells you that the grief keeps coming. It is not the crushing blow that brings you to your knees, it is the daily reminders of a life that is no more. A whole lifetime of memories, laughing, loving, working. Just one more phone call...so you could tell me not to worry about it, tell me about the neighbors, tell me about your curling game and how of course you won. I have so many more questions for you. I think "oh I gotta ask Dad about this" or tell Dad about that and then I remember. I can't. It's been over a year since you've been gone and it terrifies me to think of how many years I will be here without you. I feel you around me often, you have been in my dreams. I know you are there. People say it gets easier, I don't want it to. That scares me even more to think you presence will fade like some memory. The sadness is what I have, makes you feel more present than the memories right now. Maybe that is when it will get easier but I don't think so. I will forever miss you and this ache deep in my chest is mine and I will never let you go. What I wouldn't give to hold you hand again, that huge strong hand that was there for me all my life. Just one more card game... just one more drive... just one more talk... just one more night around the campfire... just one more.... - Posted by: Angie (daughter) on: Oct 01, 2020

Dear Doreen and family, we are so very saddened to hear of George's passing. We treasure the memories that we have of George from the years when we lived at the lake. His kindness and his caring, his helpful nature, as well as his sense of humour were a gift to many, it certainly was to us. We pray that your many happy memories of George will help you with your loss of him, God be with you all. Love from Verna and Al. - Posted by: Al and Verna Hutchinson (Friends) on: Aug 20, 2019
