We were so sad to hear of Ruth's passing. She was always so full of life, and had that wonderful naughty laugh! She was very special and taken far too soon. Our hearts are with you Phil and all your family, and with Cathy and Martha. - Posted by: Val & Eric illiamson (cousin) on: Sep 03, 2019

Ruth was the most fun-loving young woman, a sister in Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity, University of Manitoba. I will never forget her song and dance renditions, her generous heart and her infectious laugh. She was comfortable in herself, a loyal friend and a dear person. - Posted by: Dorothy Ahlgren (Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity sister) on: Aug 24, 2019

I remember Ruth as a kind soul. My favourite memory is of Ruth wondering why guys never asked her out for a fourth date. She was sure she was doing something wrong. We all explored this with her cos we could not see why such a sweetheart was not being chased....then someone asked what was different about the 3rd date. Turns out that was when her Dad had them into the library to ask their prospects and intentions...... she was surprised no one else’s Dad did this... I am glad she found forever love, she deserved all the happiness in the world. - Posted by: Morag Driscoll (Sorority sister) on: Aug 24, 2019

Phil, Matt & Kelly - My deepest sympathy to you and your families. I know how much you will all miss her. Ruth was such an incredibly strong and caring person with an infectious sense of humour. She was the key to keeping our whole family connected after the first generation of Major’s were gone. I will miss my baby cousin so much. Phil, I’m so sorry. I wish I could be there to talk to you in person. This is just to let you know that I’m thinking of you as you go through the process of grief. In time, may the pain of grief lessen and the wonderful memories you shared together take its place. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. - Posted by: Gus Campbell (Friend) on: Aug 24, 2019
