We were so saddened to hear the news of Uncle Ed's passing. We are praying for God's peace that surpasses all understanding to be yours (Phil 4:7) during this most difficult time Auntie Doreen, Cheryl, Angela & families. Uncle Ed will always be fondly remembered as our Uncle (even though we aren't blood related), the Uncle who could always make us laugh when he would talk like Donald Duck & for giving Shayne a stern, yet heartfelt 'warning' at our wedding to take care of me or he'd turn him upside down on his head (which was very funny for many reasons, mostly considering their differences in size, but at the same time endearing knowing he had my back). Thinking of you & sending you all hugs. - Posted by: Gayleen & Shayne Davis (Friend) on: Oct 10, 2019

We are so sorry for your sudden loss Doreen. I have many great memories of sitting with you and Ed at Premium Wholesale. Ed was a true gentleman with a Christ like heart. He was an honorable business man, a compassionate husband and father, and a loving grandfather. Jeanne and I both send our love to you and pray that in your grief you may still feel arms of love wrapped around you. - Posted by: Tim & Jeanne Hatch (Friends) on: Oct 08, 2019

I had the pleasure of working with Ed at Lowry's for about 8 years. This was just before he decided to retire and spend time with Doreen and his family. Ed was always a hard worker and ready to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He would also love to give you a lesson in the game of Crib if given the chance. I was very shocked to hear about Ed's passing as he was enjoying life to the fullest during his retirement, and taking great care of himself. We always enjoyed his little visits when he stopped by for a coffee and a chat. We will all miss him dearly here at Lowry's. Maybe me a little more he was always my favorite Salesman. - Posted by: Michelle Carriere (Friend) on: Oct 07, 2019

It’s in shock and with sincere sadness that Maurice & I send our condolences to Doreen & your daughters, and other family & friends of Ed’s. Clearly, Ed was very close to & proud of his family. He frequently spoke of Doreen & his daughters while at the gardens. We will miss him so much at Millennium Gardens. He was the centre of this community, with his commitment, reliability, abilities with repairs and maintenance & serving on the MG board; but also his warmth & humour, that made everyone feel included in this community. He was always ready to help, including at the summer evening concerts. We’ll miss Ed a great deal. Verna Stecy & Maurice Bernardin Millennium Gardens members. - Posted by: Verna Stecy (Millennium Gardens member) on: Oct 05, 2019

I got to know Ed in the 1970's. I liked to drive from Winnipeg to Selkirk to shoot pool with Ed. He owned Ziggy's, which was popular with everyone in the community. He became my good friend and kind of mentor. Ed and his family decided to move from Selkirk and we kind of changed places. He moved to Winnipeg and I moved to Selkirk. I bought his pool hall and arcade and kept the same name out of respect for Ed. After ten years I sold it and moved back to Winnipeg. Unfortunately I never saw Ed again and always wondered how he and his family were. In all the times I shot pool with Ed, I never won a game. I send my deepest respects to Doreen and the Zigarliski family. Very sincerely, Bill Bell - Posted by: Bill BELL (old friend) on: Oct 05, 2019
