RAYMOND MICHAEL MARKUSA
October 3, 2019 at Riverview Health Centre after a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his adoring wife Kora; son Dean (Michelle); daughter Michelle (Rossel); brother Don; grandchildren, Ashtyn, Kobi, Andre, Jordan, Madeleine and Ericka (Billy); along with nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his father Michael and mother Mary.
Ray was born on May 25, 1945. He was born and raised in Winnipeg, and that is where he raised his family. Ray spent many hours coaching and watching his children play sports. He enjoyed every game right to then end, where he was able to watch his
grandchildren play the same sports. He had a
passion for design and detail in both drawing and restoring cars. Along with his wife, he turned that passion into a business and a lifestyle. He loved every car show he attended. Through that he met many great people and friends. He holds a special place in his heart for Roger and Paulette Senebald. There was a bond created like no other, where the four of them could laugh, cry and make their own fun during both the good and bad times.
We would like to thank the staff at
Riverview Health Centre for the care they provided and making him feel comfortable the last few months of his life.
A funeral will be held in his honour on
Saturday, October 12 at 10:00 a.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road.

Im saddened to hear of Ray's passing last week, I did not know Ray until i met him and Kora about 6 yrs ago in Phoenix for the car show. He did my first car repaint and from there did 3 more so that says something about him, with his knowledge and sense of humour i enjoyed talking with him and Kora about cars and winter vacations. Rest in peace MON Amis! - Posted by: marc phaneuf (friend) on: Oct 08, 2019

Kora, our hearts hurt for you. The two of you were true fans, continuing to come out to watch Michelle and her crazy team play ringette for years (20+year’s). Before grandkids and then with grandkids. We could always count on him for some colourful game commentary. Definitely a void will be felt at the rink. - Posted by: Don and Bev Kozun (Friends ) on: Oct 07, 2019

He was a multitalented man. His renderings for the architects were the best I have ever seen, his abilty to reburbish cars etc. wowed everyone. His punctuality was non existant. He was a great guy and always made you laugh. Not a mean streak in his body, he will be missed by many. RIP Ray.Tears shed - Posted by: Walter Christie (Friend) on: Oct 06, 2019

Kora, Dean, Michelle and family. You have our deepest condolences on Ray's passing. We will all miss him. All his pain and suffering are gone and he's in a better place probably planning his next build. Lorraine and I both shed a tear last night when we saw his obituary. Unfortunately we're travelling and can't attend his funeral but we'll be thinking of him on Saturday and saying a prayer. Take care of yourself Kora and your family.
