Sadly, after a sudden massive stroke, Ella passed away at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daniel and Shelly; son-in-law Brian; grandchildren, Melanie (Ryan), Nolan, Kris (Milena), Brian (Chantel), Jim (Kristi), Harleigh and Dawna; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Blake, Maddyn, Kayden, Tristan and Connor. Also mourning her passing are siblings, Helen, Bob (Mae), Alice (Barney), Fred (Sharon), and many nieces and nephews.
Ella was predeceased by her husband Bill; parents, Margaret and Thomas Barclay; siblings, Lloyd, Howard, Ralph, Shirley; sister-in-law Marlene and son-in-law Tim.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, after marrying Bill, Ella felt fortunate to get to move around the country. They even spent some years living in Germany before putting down roots in Winnipeg where she enjoyed working at Sears and Bronson Denture Clinic. Ella always liked a good party, good music and good dinners with family. Keeping her independence until the end, Ella enjoyed her leisurely life at the Kiwanis Metropolitan Courts where she will be remembered for singing in the hallways!
Cremation has taken place and no public service will be held.

I m so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing I know she has always been a positive and happy person and know how much she will be missed by you and all of the family. Very hard for you all to see her go thru a severe stroke but know she is now in a better place rather than suffer thru a stroke. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and as you go thru your grief and loss. My Love. Vivienne - Posted by: Vivienne. Ward (Ex Sister in Law) on: Nov 07, 2019

Shelly and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am not surprised that Ella sang in the hallways as my memories of her are that she was full of light. She always had a smile on her face and only good things to say. My Mom, Connie remembers her too and asked I pass on her condolences as well. - Posted by: Donna Walter (Friend of Shelly) on: Nov 05, 2019

My condolences Shelly, Dan and family. I always enjoyed Auntie Ella’s visits. She certainly had the Barclay gift for storytelling! She’s probably catching up with friends and loved ones now and will just enjoy watching over you all from above. ❤️❤️🙏🏼 - Posted by: Cheryl Barclay (Niece) on: Nov 04, 2019
