With broken hearts, we sadly announce the passing of William (Bill) Thickson on

Bill is survived by his wife Sandra of 47 years; daughter Shannon Bell (Ryan); granddaughters, Veronica, Tayler, and Mya;

Bill enjoyed his work career at Canada Post for 35 years. He loved life by being with
family and friends, and his little angels,
Veronica, Tayler and Mya.
Bill was a proud member of the Elmwood Sewer Tour, where the group would go on
annual fishing and golfing trips. He also
enjoyed living the lake life with a cold Club beer in hand.
Bill was a very kind and caring man, a
wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Canad Inn, 826 Regent Ave. West, Thursday,
November 28, 2019, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff of Health Sciences Centre and Riverview in taking care of our Bill.

Never forget yesterday,
Always live for today,
You never know what tomorrow can bring,

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Sandra, Shannon and family - I am so sorry for your loss of Bill. My fondest memory is of him telling the story at the lake of meeting Sandra and dating back in the day. 47 years of marriage is a long time and a lot of living. Together you carved out a beautiful family and community of friends. His presence will surely be missed by you all. I will miss Bill too. He was a very good family friend who made us laugh, and inspired us with his stories and kind heart. I loved his humor. I am sure he is now celebrating his life with Sean at his side. Wishing you all peace in the comfort of friends and family in this difficult time. Love you guys. - Posted by: Cindi Burak (Friend) on: Nov 28, 2019

  • Bill and I worked together going back to when Bill Sr. was also working at Depot T. What a great family man and friend....truly a compassionate and gentle soul has been lost to us! Condolences and prayers are sent to the Family. - Posted by: Don Kraichy (Co-worker) on: Nov 27, 2019

  • Hi Sandra, it has been ages and ages since the old gang was together. So sorry to read about your loss. When Ted passed I walked around for months thinking I was the only one in the world who lost a husband. That eventually passes and you will begin a new chapter in your life. Take care Sandra, all the best to you. What has stuck with me all these years is to make sure that I don't swing to the left to turn right, or vice versa. To this day I can remember how frustrated Bill would get with drivers who didn't know how to drive. Especially those that swung out the opposite way to turn. I look for that now in other drivers and when I think of it, it brings back a lot of fond memories. - Posted by: Eleanor Tamilowicz (old friend) on: Nov 26, 2019

  • Bill was truly one of the good guys. He was kind, caring and devoted to his family. Bill always had an interesting story to share and was ready for a laugh. He was well liked by family and his many friends. My sincere condolences to Sandra, Shannon and family, and Bill’s sisters. Bill will live on in your memories of good times. My thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Gaynor Marks (Sandra’s cousin) on: Nov 26, 2019

  • I grew up with Bill, as close a friend as I ever had. He, and his parents and siblings treated me wonderfully and I loved them dearly. As happens our occupations and families took us in different directions and we only crossed paths on occasions when our sons' hockey games were taking place. Bill was well liked by all that knew him, he was one of the regulars of a large group of friends. It saddens me to hear of his passing, too soon for such a good guy. Our deepest condolences to Sandra and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and the Thickson clan. - Posted by: Ross Watson (Friend) on: Nov 24, 2019
