KATHERINE RUNNER
Katherine was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband William Runner, to whom she provided loving care to for many years throughout his disability. She is survived by her sister Dorothea Dueck
Katherine was a life-long learner, valuing and pursuing education. She began her career as a teacher, then moved to nursing where she graduated as an RN, next she achieved the first Bachelor of Nursing in Manitoba and finally became a nursing instructor. She was fiercely independent and prided herself in always finding solutions to problems, but she also enjoyed the company of her friends and family and kept many a correspondence over her long life. She especially enjoyed her frequent visits with nephew Donald (Connie) from Regina. Katherine loved golfing, reading, gardening, travelling, and her dog Charlie.
Many thanks to the loving caring of her special companions, Rose and Jan, and the wonderful staff at Golden West Lodge who made life as enjoyable as possible in her final years.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has occurred, and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
