GRANT LEE NICOL
Left to mourn his passing and keep Grant in memory are his sister Lynn; several cousins; extended family and long time friends.
Grant was born in Winnipeg on August 8, 1956. He grew up in the West End and spent his teen years and early 20s in Westwood where he met his future wife Sharon. They were married in 1981 and had 24 years together before Sharon's death in 2005. Grant was also predeceased by his parents, Ken and Doreen.
He spent most of his working life in the auto glass industry, starting out as an installer and finishing his career in the warehouse. After leaving the glass business, Grant went to work at Costco until retiring in early 2019.
He enjoyed sports. Grant liked to watch many different types of games on TV and in person. He played recreational hockey for many years and later took up golfing. He also liked to try his luck at the VLTs and lotteries. Grant's favourite pastime of all was travelling to Maui, where he spent many vacations with family and friends.
Thank you to the Emergency and H4 Teams for their compassionate care and family support.
In accordance with Grant's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

This is a sad day as I just heard of my old friends passing. I've known Grant & Sharon for many years prior to Sharon's unfortunate passing. That was very hard on Grant and I know he was never the same after that. From the first time the boys on the Sabres Hockey team welcomed him, Grant always knew there was a brother ship that would last forever. Sabres... you made a huge difference in his life. When Sharon passed, hockey was his glue that keep him together. You'll be missed little TG. I know Sharon was waiting for you Grant, you're finally back together again. - Posted by: Marcel McIvor (Friend) on: Dec 24, 2019
