I met Ralph 52 years ago ... October 31, 1969. He gave me my first flying lesson. I remember it like it was yesterday... a clear day.. in a Piper Tri Pacer CF-XNN.. With my girlfriend in the back seat, I'd paid my $5 as it was back then and we were off for my fam flight. Ralph taught me all the way through to my commercial license.. I owe my 30 year aviation career to Ralph... he became a friend. I've flown everything from beavers to twin Otters to business jets to A-320's ...seen many instructors but Ralph was the very best. Rest in Peace Ralph... - Posted by: Randy Phillips (Student) on: Oct 30, 2021

To Aggie, Michelle, Roxanne, Wendy and extended family. Though we are saddened by Ralph's passing we take comfort in the words of the song: "In my Father's house, There's a place for me, I am a child of God, Yes I am. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed." Blessings to you and your families. Ralph was a true friend, a prayer warrior and a blessing to our family. Though the years have passed with our moving to BC we will always treasure our genuine friendship. Until we meet again. With love and prayers for God's comfort. Ralph was a very caring and compassionate man and we shared the love of the sky with many stories. Many years ago as I was boarding a flight I saw him sitting in the left seat. When I found my seat I asked the flight attendant to take my business card to the captain. Minutes later she asked me to grab my bag and come with her. Ralph welcomed me to the cockpit, had a headset ready and I rode the jump seat to Toronto. It was a great training experience as he shared his knowledge. Enjoy the highest altitude my friend heaven is worth it all. - Posted by: Larry Buhler (Friend and fello aviator) on: Dec 28, 2019

I was very saddened to hear of Ralph's passing. Although, we never socialized away from work, I found working with him very enjoyable, admired his skills as a pilot, and how he dealt with all the issues that are part of the job of being a Captain. He was well respected by all of us, that had the privilege of working with him. My condolences to all his family. Sincerely, Kim Sharpe - Posted by: Kim Sharpe (Work Colleague) on: Dec 28, 2019
