JEANNETTE LILLIAN HYATT
(nee TONDU and MCCAFFREY)
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her surviving children, Mike (Debbie), Kelly (Carl), and Greg (Lisa); and her grandchildren, Matthew (Taylor), Brian (Kailey), Tom (Anna), Claire (Alex), Sara (John); her great-grandchildren, Cash and Reid; nieces and nephews too numerous to list; her sister, Doreen Nichol, and her brother Rick Tondu. She will be especially missed by her faithful little white dog, Holly.
Jan is predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, Ernest McCaffrey, her son Timothy McCaffrey, her second husband, Dennis Hyatt, her parents, Palma and Mildred Tondu, her sister, Donna MacIntosh, her brothers-in-law, Allan McCaffrey, Gary MacIntosh, and Robert Nichol, and sister-in-law Irene McCaffrey.
Jeannette was born in Wainwright, Alberta, and moved to Vancouver at a young age. She met her husband Ernie in Vancouver and together they made homes and raised their children across western Canada, finally settling in Winnipeg in the 1960s. After Ernie's passing, Mom met Dennis Hyatt, was married, and moved to Emo, Ontario, where she has resided ever since.
Special thanks to her good friends, Mavis and Mark St. Hillaire for always taking such great care of her, and just being there when she needed them; and to the nurses, doctors and staff at Fort Frances Hospital, Health Sciences Centre Emergency, and GB2 ward, who went out of their way to help, and to keep things sensible.
There will be a private family interment at a later date. An April service at St. Patrick's in Emo is also planned.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
