KIERON JOSEPH WALL
January 28, 1954 - December 30, 2019

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Kieron at Gimli Hospital after a six year battle with colon cancer. He gave up the fight peacefully, with his loving wife, Jeanine, holding his hand.
Kieron was born in Dublin, Ireland to Francis and Margaret Wall. The family immigrated to Canada in the early 1960s and settled in Edmonton. They moved to Winnipeg in the 1970s where Kieron began his career with Gulf Oil and later Birchwood Automotive Group. He had the good fortune to be mentored by Mr. R. M. Chipman and the two always maintained a close bond. Kieron had many roles with Birchwood over 37 years and his last one was as Fixed Operations Manager with Birchwood BMW.
He was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by Jeanine, children, Aaron (Terry), Colleen (Tristan), Colin and their mother, Debbie. Also survived by much loved grandchildren, Owen, Liam, Grace and Angelina, by siblings, Valerie (John), Hilary, Frank, Brendan (Hung), Brian, Adrian (Marlene), and many nieces and nephews. We hope he is reunited with beloved dogs, Shandy and Bonnie.
Kieron was a member of Deer Lodge Curling Club for many years of good times and MCA bonspiels. He also was an active Rotarian for over 30 years and participated in many charitable events, most notably organizing an annual Christmas party for underprivileged children.
Kieron and Jeanine had the opportunity to travel to many warm, southern spots, including three winters in Phoenix. Most significant to Kieron were trips to Ireland and England in 2003 and 2007 where he was able to reconnect with relatives. Kieron was an avid golfer and lived the past five years on Sandy Hook Golf Course, where he made many friends in the Senior Men's league. It was a true blessing to be welcomed into the Sandy Hook Golf Course community by such warm and caring friends and neighbours. Kieron was a voracious reader who enjoyed trivia and Jeopardy. Kieron never went anywhere that he didn't see someone he knew.
Thanks to the staff at Gimli Hospital and palliative team for their compassionate care of Kieron.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gimli.
