GAYLE MATILDA RIEDEL
(née PATRICK)
September 23, 1944 - January 3, 2020

Marrying Mom made our Dad, Arnold, whole 48 years ago. The lights of her life are her daughter Carolyn (Ronald), son Mark (Jennifer), son Timothy (Andrea), and grandchildren, Adalyn and Lenny Blake. Her heart is well-known to include cat-grandchildren: McCartney, Spirit, Marigold, Angel, Petal, Conan; Bella, Bert.
Mom blissfully reunites with her dad Allen Patrick, mother Adella Poitras, beloved family and animals.
She loves her dear sister Lorelie, son Aaron; brothers, Glayne, Rhean (Valerie), daughters, Dana and Jolene; stepmother June; sisters, Judith, daughter Samantha; Natalie, children, Connor, Rayanna; Avril (Sebastian).
Mom was a 1962 curling champion, landscaped our home lovingly, and her friendships endure.
We celebrate her Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. Viewing prior to service.

  • Beautiful tribute to a special woman. Thank you for sharing everything you expressed so eloquently here. - Posted by: K Duff (Friend of family ) on: Nov 22, 2024

  • Our Dearest Mom, we speak with you every day. It was painful that three lights of our lives joined you the year after: Spirit, Marigold, McCartney. Our only comfort was that they were embraced by you and Love, our other beloved cat son. Now Dad is with you, which is difficult for us but a joyous reunion for all of you. Be well together. Love always, Carolyn. Your full tributes are hosted at my blog. Other family history will go there. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2024/09/07/gayle-matilda-riedel/ - Posted by: Carolyn Riedel (Daughter) on: Sep 08, 2024

  • I am the middle Lundstrom daughter 'Chrissie' Remember Gayle in Starratt-Olsen, always cheerful, glorious curly shiny hair with a barrette. Gayle was fun to be around, we would often get the giggles together! Whenever our dear Mom Olive Lundstrom made Puff-Wheat Squares Gayle was always there to help us eat them....she totally loved them. From my memory, I was one year older, Gayle almost always wore a skirt, blouse & cardigan sweater, bobbie sox & kept herself nicely groomed. I don't think I have any photos but if I come across any, I will share them with you. Take care and sincere condolences to you all! - Posted by: Christine Lundstrom Beaulieu (childhood friend) on: Apr 05, 2020

  • My beloved sister Gayle fought a good fight to stay with us despite a number of health issues. She will be so missed by us all. She will always be in our hearts. - Posted by: Carole Patrick (Sister) on: Jan 12, 2020

  • My condolences to all her family. I and mine know what it is like to lose a loved one much too soon. May the good memories heal - yes, these will. - Posted by: Edith [Riedel] Perry (Cousin-in-Law) on: Jan 11, 2020
