I worked with Jim at the Public Safety Building, Fire Command Center as I was the Communication Supervisor. Jim was a kind, caring man and he looked after many people with gentle kindness. He will be missed by many. Jim and Mary helped Lynne and I celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary in October of 1971, when a small party was held at our home. I always had my own nickname for him. I called him a warm, fuzzy Teddy Bear. Our condolences go out to Edith and James. These are hard days for you but know he is with Mary. May they both rest in peace. Respectfully Lynne and Bob Harris Chilliwack, B.C. - Posted by: Robert Harris (Co Worker Winnipeg Fire Department) on: Feb 25, 2020

I used to get Jim's breakfast and we'd chat about hockey a lot. He was really friendly and fun to chat with. He always asked about my dad who I told him had been to the hospital for a cracked rib around the same time he went late last year. Miss chatting with you, Jim. - Posted by: K (Friend / food services) on: Feb 19, 2020

I met Jim when I was a young child. My mom owned her own salon and I would come in on Saturday. Jim would bring in donuts and tease me while he await Mary. I would take out Mary’s rollers for my mother as well. It was ten years later that I started cutting Jim’s hair. I appreciated his company. In fact, I looked forward to his visits. Jim liked to joke around and give me a hard time just for kicks. Jim you were one of a kind. Thank you for adding paint to my life. You were a good one that is for sure. Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Jodie (Friend and hairstylist ) on: Feb 18, 2020
