It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Grace Martel, on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Villa Youville, Ste. Anne, MB.
Grace was born on July 4, 1928, in Giroux, MB, where she lived most of her life and was employed by Canada Post for more than 30 years.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Denise (Gerry), Adele (Tedd), Doug (Gail), Gloria, Loretta (Steve), Marianne (Darren) and Jim, daughters-in-law, Evelyn and Lorraine; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Vezina (Joe), and her sons, Maurice and Roger.
Mom was one of nine siblings and is survived by her sister Anna Nault, and two sisters-in-law, Florida and Jean Martel.
The family would like to thank Dr. De Moissac, Sister Irene and the staff at Villa Youville for their kindness and compassionate care during Mom's stay at the Villa.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Saviour Catholic Parish, 365 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Grace may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to Canadian Cancer Society - Manitoba Division.
