MATTHEW KINGSLEY ISAAK
June 1, 2009 - February 21, 2020
Matthew's legacy of love, joy and kindness will be carried on by his mom and dad, Clare and Jordan; grandparents, Valerie, George, Bruce and Calla; great-grandparents, Margaret, Peter and Helen; aunt, uncle and nephews, Gabrielle, Dan, Austin and Bryn; his large extended family; many, many best friends, classmates, teachers and community at Ecole Marie Anne Gaboury; his friends and teachers from Soul Kids and the congregation of Soul Sanctuary; his teammates in soccer and hockey; as well as countless friends who knew him and loved him.
Matthew loved life more than most and had a knack for living gracefully. From a very young age he knew the importance of community and friendship. Matthew was the best teammate and friend you could have. His enthusiasm and easygoing nature made any time you spent with him feel effortless and perfect.
Nine short months ago Matthew was diagnosed with a Diffuse Midline Glioma; an aggressive brain tumour that primarily affects children, has a survival rate of less than 1%, and for which there is no standard treatment. Thanks to support from his exceptional community, he was able to receive non-traditional treatments in the comfort of his home, that improved his quality of life so that he was able to enjoy the things he loved most. Sadly, as a result of tumour growth patterns and the toll of the tumour and medication on his physical abilities, he never became eligible for treatment trials.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Maddox's Warriors to support childhood brain cancer research, or Team Brody Foundation to directly support families of children with cancer.
Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in a photo-biography, charitable donations, stories and condolences for the family by visiting Matthew's memorial page at EthicalDeathCare.com
A celebration of Matthew's life will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Soul Sanctuary, 2050 Chevrier Boulevard in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Matthew was such a joy to be around. His infectious laugh, cheery smile and great stories of his love of cars and Star Wars will be missed. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Sharlene (Friend) on: Mar 08, 2020
