ALFRED (ALFIE) WALLACE
He is predeceased by his loving wife Verna in 2012, and survived by his children, Linda, Kevin (Colleen) and Erin; grandchildren, Jennifer (Blaine), Nettie and Grace; great-granddaughter Charli; brother Gerald (Susan); sisters-in-law, Betty, Elsie and Laura, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his brother Earl and son-in-law Keith.
Alf was born September 22, 1922, in Portage la Prairie, MB, and moved to Petersfield, MB, with his family in 1937 where he farmed until 1976. In 1949 he married Verna Taylor and together they raised their three children on the farm. He also worked for Manitoba Crop Insurance and in 1972 he purchased Western Air Brakes with his brother Gerald, where he worked until his retirement in 1987. Alf and Verna moved to Selkirk in 2001 where they lived in 'Kiwanis on the Red', 'Woodland Courts', and finally 'Tudor House'.
The family would like to thank the employees of Tudor House for the love and compassion they gave to Dad over the last seven years, especially in his final days. Your devotion and dedication are very appreciated. Chelsea's cheerful voice always brought a smile to his face.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alf's memory to the Selkirk and District Community Foundation at sdcf.ca/donate/.
