DOROTHY WINNIFRED SMITH
(nee EVANS)
May 6, 1947 - March 9, 2020
Left to cherish her amazing life are her husband, Ron, daughter Tammy, daughter-in-law Sharon, granddaughters, Sarah and Emily, sisters, Isobel, Iris, and Bonnie (Garry), extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Ruby, brother Sandy, brother-in-law Reg, and her beloved son Rick.
Dorothy had an incredibly open heart and a smile that could melt the ice caps. She always had an open-door policy, and everyone was welcome in her home at any time. She loved being around people, and her long employment as a bartender at ANAF Club 60 brought her lots of good times and friends. She loved her family and brought us so much happiness. She enjoyed her garden, bingo, Clear Lake, Goldeyes games, and a good reality TV night with her daughter. She loved to laugh until she cried. Her warmth and love will be missed forever.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 1:00 p.m.
If so desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

I am so sorry to hear your gone. Dorothy was like a big sister to me when I started working at ANAF club 60. She was patient, kind and a great friend. We had a lot of fun times at work, at events , picnics and curling. Times and memories I will treasure. I am so very sorry to read of Dorothy. She, Isobel and I shared so many special moments together when we lived in Tyndall. She was my dear friend until miles separated us and we lost touch. Her Mom's home was my home. Words can't express how heavy my heart feels right now. Please accept my deepest condolences and know you're in my thoughts. Dorothy had one of the best laughs ever. Whether it was the start of a chortle or a giant let loose which included tears. That woman had an amazing laugh. Being a part of that family for over 40 years, I was able to see her in the good times and the bad. Through it all her head held high and her love of those around her was always there. Over the years we met Dorothy with Ron at many ANAVETS functions and there was never a time where we were not greeted by Dorothy's charming smile which we will sadly miss in the future. RIP Dorothy & you can be sure that we & ANAVETS will be here to support Ron and the family in their time of grief & mourning....
