PAUL DOUGLAS DENNIS JOSEPH WIENS
March 25, 1966 - March 21, 2020
Husband - Father - Grandpa

It is with heavy hearts that we advise of the sudden and very tragic passing of Paul Wiens, a dedicated soulmate, father, grandfather, son and friend to many, at the age of 53. While riding a side-by-side machine in the RM of Reynolds, his life was cut short by a branch sticking out in the trail, which tragically impaled him. Paul's life was spent making people laugh, he loved to entertain, and he will be so missed by all who knew him.
Paul leaves to mourn his passing, his life-partner Veronica Benoit; son Myles (Brianne) Stoesz and their children, Phaetyn, Ivory and Wilder; daughter Chantelle (Favio) Dueck and their son Malachi; stepsons, Conrad (Megan) Benoit and their sons, Kellan, Karson and Kade (on the way) and Brandon (Jennifer) Dolenuck; father Earl (Lisa) Wiens; stepbrothers, Chris (Tanya) Knelsen, Vince (Amanda) Knelsen and Dustin Knelsen; stepsister Felecia (Jason) Knelsen; sister Debbie (Murray) Penner; numerous family, lifelong friends and anyone who had a minute to get to know this amazing man. Paul was predeceased by his mother Marie Wiens (née Pelland) in 2017.
Paul's friends and relatives are encouraged to honour his memory by viewing a photobiography, sharing personal stories and memories, and offering condolences, by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com.
Due to COVID-19, we are unable to lay our friend to rest at this time. A longer obituary and Celebration of Life details will be announced at a later date.

  • The news of Paul's accident and death really broke my heart. We have known each other for many years and it was always a pleasure to talk with Paul. My husband and I were taking a walk on the crown land in Feb. when Paul approached us on his side by side with his grandson. He stopped and we talked for about 30 minutes. I did not know at that time this would be the last talk I would ever have with Paul. Our prayers and heartfelt condolences to all the family in this most difficult time. Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow. - Posted by: John & Pat Kornelson (Friend) on: Apr 08, 2020
