JOSEPHINE OSIOWY

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Josephine Osiowy, age 62, on April 17, 2020.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brent Steg, Jena Steg; grandchildren, Emma, Hannah and Seth; and her siblings, Bob Chodachek, Diane Buhler (Ken) and Mike Chodachek. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; parents, Sam and Mary Chodachek; brother Billie and sister Delorse.
Josie grew up in a large family in Ile-Des-Chenes. She raised her children in Niverville and created lasting friendships in both communities. After many years of working in finance and helping her husband follow his dreams, she chose to take time off to spend with her grandchildren.
Josie was proud of her family and showed her love with home cooked meals and decadent baking. She enjoyed hosting family in her immaculate yard and cherished the many camping trips shared with her grandchildren. Her life was well lived. She will be remembered for her incredible strength, her beautiful presence and her selfless nature.
Josie's loved ones wish to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
A Celebration of Life for Josie will be announced at a later date.

  • We have known Lawrence and Josie a long time. AK grew up with LO as we called him. LO worked hard for us at Winnipeg Yamaha for many years. We spent time together at Lee River with LO and Josie boating, fishing, and the great fish fries they hosted. So many great memories growing up riding bikes, sleds, and camping. Brent and Jen will remember hanging with Steven and Jason, good times. We Will miss LO's non stop humour and jokes. Josie will always be remembered for her calm, soothing voice. Brent and Jen had wonderful parents which will not be forgotten. We were fortunate to have just spoken to Josie a couple weeks back. And in her gentle voice she sounded strong. Our deepest condolences to your family. Alvin and Denise Knopp and Family - Posted by: Alvin & Denise Knopp (Friends) on: Apr 26, 2020
