MELANIE (MEL) SASKIA SCOTT MULDER
December 5, 1975 - April 26, 2020
Mel will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by Brian Sparrow; and their children, Vivien and Louis; mother, Sharon (Bill Martin); brothers, Jan (Melissa) and Ethan; father, Arend-Jan; aunt, Gail Paseska; mother and father-in-law, Diane and Bob Sparrow; brother-in-law, Ben Sparrow (Lisa); nieces and nephews, McKenzie, Mae, Lucas, Sophie and Jacob; as well as many, many close friends.
Mel grew up in southeastern Manitoba, graduated from Ste. Anne Collegiate, and received her degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba (1998). Mel worked at Standard Aero for 20 years until her diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer. During the two years of treatment, Mel received incredible support from her large group of friends, staff and friends at Standard Aero, and her cancer support groups. Thank you to everyone.
The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at CancerCare, Palliative Care, Riverview Health Centre, and the transport drivers (Manitoba Stretcher Services), all who went above and beyond.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mel's memory can be made to the Melanie Mulder Bursary for Women in Engineering (://give.umanitoba.ca/MelanieMulderBursary) or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, when we are safely able to come together.
In the meantime, Mel's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory and visit her tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew her, are available there.

To Brian and Family, my deepest sympathies for your entire family. Melanie and I both started at Standard Aero around the same time and had worked together on many projects over the past 20 years. A great person to work with, as smart as they come. We will miss Mel greatly but her memory will always live on in our hearts. - Posted by: Michael Hinson (Co-Worker/Friend) on: May 21, 2020

We were saddened to hear of Mel losing her battle with cancer. We could only know she must have fought valiantly from the reports we received. We are saddened also that we never got to know her. We can only know that she has a very dear, caring mom, Sharon and caring step Dad, Bill We can only say that we thought about Mel and her loved ones very often over these past months that must have been so tough. And so we will continue to think of you all and pray that the precious memories you hold in your hearts of Mel will help to comfort you in this tragic time of loss and grief. - Posted by: John and Catherine Dubourt (Sister in law and brother in law to Sharon) on: May 18, 2020
