CARLOS MANUEL SOARES

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Carlos Manuel Soares on May 6, 2020.
Carlos was born on August 9, 1947 in Faial, Acores, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1974.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Joao, sister Filomena, and brothers, Joao and Fernande.
Carlos is survived and lovingly remembered by his siblings, Fatima in California, Maria (Jorge) in Cambridge, ON, Manuel (Conceicao) in Winnipeg, MB, Luis (Armanda) in Winnipeg, MB, Angustias (Dimas) in Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews around the world.
Carlos was a humble, hard working and kind man. His great sense of humour could make you laugh for hours. He was a fantastic cook and enjoyed preparing a meal and gathering around the table to eat and chat. He was the type of man that would go without, just so you wouldn't have to. If he loved or cared for you, it was with his whole heart and soul. He cherished his close family and friends above all else.
Carlos will be greatly missed, always remembered and forever loved.
A private service will take place.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • My dearest Uncle.. You were one of the best things in my life! Once of the kindest, tender hearted, humble and funniest people I've ever known. My heart aches that you were taken so soon. You truly were an amazing man. You always put others first. I know from experience! You have left an emptiness in the world and my heart that no one else could ever fill. My love for you is unconditional, you live on in my heart and memories always. Heaven has gained a new angel. Rest in peace Uncle.. I'll see you again. - Posted by: Kelly Turner (Niece) on: May 27, 2020

  • Carlos was a brother to me, I met Carlos in 1990, we worked together in many companies, and he was always a hard working man, I would sit as I was tired and he would keep going. A great friend, a mentor and a great human being. We will call each other "Macaco" and many more things. My heart aches with so many memories and so many things we enjoyed together. Good voyage my brother. Eric Urquilla - Posted by: Eric Urquilla (Friend) on: May 16, 2020

  • I didn't know Mr. Soares personally but I knew him well enough to say hello, generally as I leaving for the day and Carlos and his team were just starting their work day, and I always found him to be pleasant and friendly. He was well liked by Manitoba Hydro staff, always did an excellent job, and I'll miss seeing him around the building. His work is done, rest easy. My sincere condolences to Mr. Soares's family and friends. - Posted by: Brad Ireland (Business Acquaintance ) on: May 14, 2020
