IRENE MILDRED KAPAC
(nee NORENBERG)
1926 – 2020

With sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother Irene Kapac on May 13, 2020.
Mom is survived by her children, Jack;
Robert (Barbara) and their children,
Christina, Benn, Monica, Luke and Jon; Jayne (Rhonda); and Thomas (Mary Ann) and their children, Owen and Lauren. Mom is also
survived by her siblings, Art, Ruby and
Laverne and by many nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack, parents, Rudolf and Amelia, and sisters, Edna, Ella and Lil.
Mom was born in Friedensfeld, MB on July 7, 1926. She and dad married in 1950.
Although on the quiet side, mom had a wry sense of humour and was always up for an
adventure. She worked hard to provide us with a good home, but was also a keen
follower of current events. Our home was open to all. After her retirement, mom was thrilled to have had the opportunity to travel and see something of the world outside of Manitoba. Her special delight, however, was her seven grandchildren.
During the past 10 years, mom did have to contend with multiple health issues and we are relieved that she is finally at ease. We are also profoundly grateful to River Park
Gardens, mom's home for the past 10 years. The compassion and many kindnesses shown by staff are a testament to what is best in the human spirit.
Cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held with Pastor Lynne
Hutchison of St. Luke's Zion Lutheran Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River Park Gardens or Elmwood Cemetery.
