RITA SCOLLIN
(née MCGREGOR)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rita was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 4, 1928, and she died peacefully at age 92, on Thursday, May 14, 2020, in the St. Boniface Hospital.
Rita was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend, The Honourable Mr. Justice John A. Scollin, on March 21, 2015. Rita was a loving, generous and gentle person, as intelligent and loyal as she was elegant and kind. She was the wind in many sails.
Rita will be remembered forever by her son John Charles, daughter Lorraine, granddaughter Caitlin, grandson Sean, her great-grandsons, Cairo and Eli, as well as by her many dear friends. Rita loved her family above all else, but she loved so many with perfect joy.
A private mass will be held (out of necessity) at this time, and a Celebration of Life ceremony will be scheduled in the near future and announced in this newspaper.
We would like to thank all the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for doing their very best to make Rita's last moments as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Assiniboine Park, where a stone in the memory of John and Rita Scollin will be placed at the entrance to the English Garden - a place where Rita and John spent many happy hours during their 64 years together and where they will welcome your visit, again and again.
