Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • To Beng's family and loved ones, I am so sorry to hear of Beng's passing. Far too young. I was well acquainted with Beng when we attended U-Manitoba School of Art back in the 80s. He was a lovely, gentle person, always with a kind smile, twinkle in his eye and good humour. He is definitely going to be missed here on earth by all who knew him. I had recently been thinking of Beng and wondering where he is; so to find this, I am so sorry for your loss. Beng, your friends from all the eras of life think of you still! • Beng and I met driving taxis at Unicity Taxi. We immediately hit it off. Beng loved to gamble, it was, unfortunately, the devil on his shoulder. Beng was a very talented artist, he was a potter. I own a few pieces which I have always moved with me and to this day in Vernon, BC treasure them especially more so now. Bend loved to play backgammon. We had played together this one time and he doubled the dice to 32. I needed 3 sets of doubles to win and sure enough, I did get them. He was so mad he said he'd never play me again and sure enough, that was the last time. Beng was a kind, gentle-hearted soul not a mean bone in his body. He loved his family very much and told me that I was his best friend and that he loved me. - Posted by: Patti Mondor (Best Friend) on: May 30, 2020
