ANNE VANDAL
March 6, 1931 - May 21, 2020

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anne.
She is survived by her sister Violet (Lolly) MacLellan, who she always called her baby sister, as well as her nephews and nieces: Brent, Lance, Guy, Sharon, Janice and Lisa.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul, sister Rose McKay, and nephew Brad.
Anne enjoyed travelling and visiting her family throughout Canada. Her other travels included California, Hawaii, Vegas and Iceland. Although her family was spread across Canada, Anne loved to keep in touch with them through cards, letters and phone calls. Anne also enjoyed spending time with her "found family" in Winnipeg whether it was weekends at the lake with the Pescolvitches or sharing a cup of tea with her neighbour Joanne. She created a lifetime of memories with the Naften, Goska and Arnasen families sharing in all of life's special moments. Her friendship with Loretta Naften spanned 70 years and was cherished and constant until the very end. Although Anne will be missed, we are comforted to know that she will be reunited with Paul and all those who have gone before.
The family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Wildlife Confederation or Diabetes Canada.

"Til we meet again."

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I have so many wonderful memories of Anne. We spent countless weekends on her deck enjoying a glass of wine or one of her famous spritzers. She was always asking are you hungry and putting out bowls of chips and assorted goodies for us to snack on. We shared meals and so much laughter on those weekends. I so enjoyed listening to her stories of her travels with Paul. My whole family loved her and we always knew that she loved us. She was also good friends with my mother-in-law Marge and we were glad to be able to visit often with both of them together prior to the shutdown in March. - Posted by: Meighan Pesclovitch (Friend) on: Jun 16, 2020

  • It was always a pleasure to spend time with our dear Auntie Anne. She was kind and generous, making sure you always had enough to eat and drink. I loved that no matter how many years passed between visits Auntie Anne and her sister Rose would find something to disagree about. True sisters. Auntie Anne and Uncle Paul came to our wedding and we partied till dawn, with Auntie Anne helping to make sure everyone was fed, and Uncle Paul feeding our dog cheezies when he thought no one was looking. When we had our children, Auntie would send the most beautiful clothing as gifts to them. We attended Auntie Anne's and Uncle Paul's 50th Wedding Anniversary in Winnipeg, spending many hours chatting, laughing and enjoying each other's company, with Auntie introducing us to her loving Winnipeg family. When her sister Rose's health began to fail, Auntie Anne and sister Lolly came for a visit and we spent a lovely weekend together with other family members and friends at a getaway in Crescent Beach. It was so nice to get the sisters together, with the family. Although the past few years after Uncle Paul passed away were tough for Auntie Anne, she always had lots to chat about when I called her. Auntie Anne had no children of her own, but I see her in my sister Lisa and my daughter Janessa. I will love and miss you forever Auntie Anne. - Posted by: Janis McKay (Niece) on: Jun 10, 2020

  • I would just like to say that I loved my Auntie Ann so much. She and uncle Paul spoiled us so much when we took family trips to Winnipeg, Auntie Ann made sure us kids had everything we needed and wanted, goodies like you would not believe. Some of my best memories are going to their beautiful place on the lake. I slept on the screened porch, so nice. We were treated with some of the best pickerel feasts you could imagine. My brothers and I loved their place on Bannerman also. Train tracks were fun (pennies on the track). Uncle Paul climbing up on the roof to get our elastic band airplanes off the roof every 20 minutes. When I moved out to BC in 1995 had a great stop at Auntie Ann and Uncle Paul. Was early March. Paul asked "got a block heater". I said don't know. Ended up I had one. Again was spoiled with so much good food and conversation. I was lucky enough to see the three sisters get together in 2013 before Aunt Rose passed away at Crescent Beach, BC. My last best memory(I'm tearing up) was Auntie Ann at mom and dads three summers ago., might be four. does not seem that long ago. My timing could be off. Sitting on the deck Mom, Dad, Julia, Auntie Ann and I drinking wine and laughing. I LOVE MY AUNTIE ANN, XOX - Posted by: Lance Maclellan (nephew) on: Jun 09, 2020
