ROSA SLUZYNSKI
(WEINGARTNER)
September 13, 1931 - July 3, 2020
Rosa was predeceased by husband Zygmunt, her parents, Franz and Franziska, and sisters, Maria, Martina, Amelia and Anna.
Remaining to cherish her memory are Herb, Rita, Zachary and Ryan and The Nowak Family, Mario and Helen Reglewski and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany and friends.
Rosa was born in Bad Kissingen, Germany on September 13, 1931. She grew up beside the lake, but never learnt how to swim. In August of 1950 she married Zygmunt. May 1951, they boarded the transport ship called the Nelly and came to Canada. Rosa was an Accounts clerk for many years and worked her way up with the Province of Manitoba becoming head secretary to the Provincial Minister of Health until her retirement.
Rosa and Zygmunt were proud of the house they built together and the garden they had that produced a lot of raspberries and beans. Their cottage at Twin Beaches was a second home in the summer and where the Nowak family spent many summers enjoying the cottage along with Rosa and Zygmunt.
Rosa loved to read. She had many a favourite author and she baked the best German style cookies at Christmas time.
We would like to give thanks to all the doctors, nurse and home care nurses who took such good care of Rosa.
A private service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
