Mom was born in the Western Ukraine on March 6, 1926 and at age four, moved to Gerald, Saskatchewan. She married Joseph Schentag in October 1943 and resided in Saskatchewan until 1953 when they moved to Winnipeg. She was an excellent seamstress and worked for the T. Eaton Company until her retirement. Mom was a great cook, enjoyed needlework and took tremendous pride in gardening. Her floral displays at her home on Churchill Drive received many compliments. She was very proud of her family and well-liked by everyone that knew her. Mom had an open door policy and enjoyed having company.
In January 2018, mom moved into Riverwood Square assisted living and then in March 2020 moved to Vista Park Lodge Care Home. Our family certainly appreciated the care and professionalism of all the staff at those facilities.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date.

Dear Maxine - In searching your name for a contact, I came across this obituary for your mom, from last August. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, Maxine. She sounded like a wonderful person. I know it's well after the fact, but I am thinking of you and Mac and Adam Cole, in saying goodbye to your mom... Hope you are all well. Warm regards, Maureen (Phillips) Brown, and Ted Brown, Little Fort, BC - Posted by: Maureen and Ted Brown (Friend of Maxine's from Victoria days, circa 1980) on: Mar 22, 2021
