Bob and Family - I would like to say how sorry I was to read of Gordon's passing. I lived across the street from you and moved away at the end of 3rd grade. We were in the same class in Grade 1- 3. I remember your brother a little bit as he was older. I will fill you in a little bit just in case you don't remember me. You had a television set and you used to invite the neighbor children in to watch the Lone Ranger. My mother told me that I said that I wanted to be like Mrs. Funk when I grew up. I had a brother named Bob who was two years younger. I moved to Minneapolis in 1970 and worked as a flight attendant. I met my husband here and have made my home in Minneapolis ever since. My husband was Children's Dentist and had his own practice. He passed away two years ago. From what I have read about Gordon he was a wonderful man and those who knew him treasured their friendship. I hope you and your family are doing well. I know this is a little late but I was thinking about reaching out and wanted you to know that I am very sorry. - Posted by: Lorraine (Bell) Nelson (old neighbor) on: Oct 22, 2021

Gord was an old friend back in our University days. He was a great guy, always had a nice smile and a dry sense of humour. One of the hardest working students I ever knew. Our deepest condolences to the Family. Garry and Susan - Posted by: Garry Kissuk (Friend) on: Aug 25, 2020

I keep watching the video and tearing up as the shock still has not dissipated! Gord made each person feel valued, cared about and respected no matter their age or disposition. He would stop whatever he was doing to listen, and smile with those twinkly eyes. I watched him over 34 years make people feel smart, witty and special by his genuine interest in people. I admired as I grew up how Gord would engage strangers and friends never referencing his own accomplishments or material means. We are all so fortunate he made us feel welcome in his life amongst all of those he loved dearly. He opened his heart, homes, boats, and cottage to many and we will cherish those memories all the years of our lives Gord!! My heart aches for each of you. Holly Glew (Cory, Morley, Kalan, Ethan, Caleb, Matzah and even Dooley bird was made welcome). - Posted by: Holly Glew (friend) on: Aug 24, 2020

A tragic loss of such a wonderful soul. Gord was always the consommate gentleman. I so enjoyed the impromptu phone calls where we compared notes with plenty of laughs. I know too well the pain you are experiencing from the loss of a loved one. - Posted by: Ron Chatfield (Friend) on: Aug 22, 2020
