CLAIRE RAUHAUS
Claire was born August 14, 1940 to Gladys (nee Greenwood) and Norman Middlehurst and married, until his passing, to Norm Rauhaus for 56 years.
Claire was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother Barry.
She is survived by her four children, Wade (Sanae), Jason (Sandra), Marni (Jason) and Matt (Aya), her cherished grandchildren, Cody (Melissa), Riley (Nicole), Josh, Mark, James, Kai, Lucas, and Ellie as well as her brother Ken (Jane) and niece Hayley.
Claire grew up in Winnipeg, attended Linwood Elementary School and graduated from St. James Collegiate. She spoke fondly of her childhood summers spent at Whytewold Beach with her grandparents. After graduation she worked at Great West Life until meeting and marrying Norm, a handsome Blue Bomber, and starting her family.
Claire loved all her children dearly and unconditionally, staying home for 20 years. Later, she began working at the HSC records department where she made several new friendships. Over the years Claire enjoyed the Winnipeg Canoe Club, her bridge club, cycling and picnicking in Assiniboine Park, her grandchildren, as well as trips with her dearest friend, her mom Gladys.
Claire's health had been declining for a number of years and her family would like to thank Beacon Hill Lodge for their compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Thursday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. A livestream will be available for those unable to attend the service, which will appear on Claire's memorial page at www.cropo.ca.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Claire's name may be made to OHEYS Autism Programs at www.oheys.com.

Claire was a kind and gentle person and cared deeply for others. She was visited often by staff who were drawn to her beautiful spirit that shone through even as her body faded away. She was generous with her affection and admiration and enjoyed the people around her. She had a trusting faith that brought her peace. We will miss her kindness and delight in life. - Posted by: Laura (chaplain) on: Sep 05, 2020

Claire was a wonderful person and easy to love. I called her on her birthday Aug. 14 2020. She was a week older than me. I will always remember her fondly. My sympathies to the Rauhaus and Middlehurst families. Mattie Middlehurst - Posted by: Mattie Middlehurst (sister in law) on: Aug 31, 2020
