October 22, 1968 - September 30, 2020
She will be greatly missed by all those who shared a part of her life: her wife Sue, daughter Sarah, mother Jane, siblings, Erinn, Adam and Katy, grandmother Dianne, stepmother Liz, stepsiblings, Emily, Alex, and Melissa, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends.
Dana was born in Victoria and grew up in Vernon, BC. She earned degrees from Simon Fraser University and the University of Calgary followed by post-doctoral research at the Salk Institute, before settling in Winnipeg as an Associate Professor of Botany at the University of Manitoba.
A celebration of Dana's life will be held at a later date when everyone who cherished her will be able to gather. In the meantime, Dana's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by visiting her tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com.
