DAVID ANDERSON
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Clara Anderson, and is survived by his brother Tom Anderson and sister-in-law Trish.
David was born in Calgary, Alberta in 1947. After graduating from the Alberta College of Art and Design he earned a BFA from the University of Winnipeg and his MFA from the University of Regina. He loved Winnipeg and chose it as his permanent home. He became a part of its vibrant arts community during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. David did pottery and sculpture but his main medium of expression was landscape painting.
David lived a full life on his own terms and without compromise. He kept regular contact with his family in Alberta, and David will be sorely missed. We thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their caring and comfort during his final days.
For those who wish, a contribution in remembrance of David to support local arts would be appreciated.
A private service will be held at the family's request.

I am shocked and saddened by the news of Dave's passing. I was his buddy and next door neighbor across the hall for 25 years! We would often get together to sit and talk or look at books he would take out of the library.... always big oversized books of rich visual content.... he had a fascination for everything from nature photography to areal photography, drawing, and painting. We would see each other and at least have a quick chat every single day. He was a very special person and a talented, insightful, and unique man. I always thought the world needed more people like Dave Anderson. He will be missed by all who knew him. I would very much like to speak with someone from his family personally. When you are up to it please call me at 204-291-8343 My very sincere condolences. Jeff - Posted by: jeff (friend and neighbor) on: Oct 10, 2020
