DANIEL JOHN MCQUARRIE
He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Isobel Peel and Florence Jean McQuarrie; his wife Laura Kathrine McQuarrie; his daughter Dianna Gayle Bussey and her husband Terry; his son Scott Daniel McQuarrie and his wife Lucinda; and his grandchildren, Callum and Thea. He is predeceased by his parents, John Beaton McQuarrie and Agnes Scott; his brothers, William Kenneth, Allan Murray and James Neil McQuarrie; and his sister Mary Gwendolyn Dean.
Dan grew up on his family's farm near Oak Lake and operated heavy equipment for road projects in Manitoba and British Columbia before working as a CP Rail carman in Nelson, BC and Lethbridge, AB while enjoying his hobbies of fishing and hunting.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude for the dignity and compassion shown to them during these difficult COVID-19 times by the staff and management of the Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre.
A memorial will be held in Oak Lake in the spring or summer.
Donations to the Oak Lake Cemetery are gratefully accepted in lieu of flowers.
