PATRICIA GAIL TIMKO
(nee FYFE)
May 11, 1942 - November 3, 2020
She was predeceased by her husband Melvyn Wallace Timko; and parents, Bob and Olga Fyfe. She is survived by her sister Donna Sprague, brother-in-law Wayne Sprague, sister-in-law Diane (John) Green, cousin Marie Kishchuk and honorary family member, very dear and special friend and constant caregiver, Sylvia Koldon who supported Pat unconditionally prior to and during her battle with cancer and other health issues.
Pat was a Winnipegger who grew up in St. Vital and spent most of her life there. She and Melvyn lived in her parent's home up until Melvyn's passing in June 2016 at which time Sylvia graciously invited Pat to live with her.
In her early adult life, Pat worked at a few different jobs, but her favourite vocation was working as a nanny for the Soondarsingh family.
Pat was a very faithful and longtime member of Elim Chapel, where she developed many lasting friendships. She sang in the choir for many years and volunteered at many of the church's functions.
Pat was a generous and thoughtful soul, always looking for ways to please others. If there was a day that mattered to you, Pat had it recorded so that she could always acknowledge your birthday, anniversary or other milestone event that held meaning to those close to her.
Pat very much enjoyed the Christmas season and would start her Christmas preparations and home decorating long before anyone else even thought about Christmas.
Pat had a close circle of friends that understood her ways and she spent many wonderful days on various outings with them.
We wish to thank Dr. Vi. Dao and nurse Britney Kasloff at CancerCare, Manitoba for their excellent care and support. As well, we extend our thanks to the Palliative Out-Patient care unit that attended Pat while in her final days at home.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation to either the Canadian Myeloma Research Fund (www.myeloma.ca) or to Patricia's church, Elim Chapel, 546 Portage Avenue, www.ecwinnipeg.com would be greatly appreciated.
Given the current COVID pandemic, there will be no memorial service. Instead, there will be a private family graveside "remembrance" for Pat at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.

I have many fond memories of both Pat and Mel over the years that I knew them at Elim Chapel. Pat was always eager to join in our ladies dinner out group and connect over lunches with myself and others at Lion's Place cafeteria after church on many Sunday afternoons. She truly enjoyed her cake and cookies which were shared with everyone attending. I would also remember her company at many Elim brunches and women's breakfast events and volunteering with communion set up etc... She had so much energy and spunk to keep involved with all of us, even through her illness. I will truly miss her. May God bless all of you for taking such good care of her over the years. from Wanda. - Posted by: wanda dombek (friend) on: Nov 09, 2020

Pat and Melvin were apart of many of our family events. There were many good times, memories and laughs. Hopefully all those that have passed are playing a heavenly rumoli game!! - Posted by: Andrea Todd (Family) on: Nov 07, 2020

My mother, Lois Martens, was a long-time friend of Pat's (and her parents), and her great Salisbury House companion. They could often be found there drinking coffee, with many others who would visit their table. Pat was generous to my family, and joined in many special gatherings and concerts. Pat was always sending cards, and in fact sent one a week before she passed away – to thank us for some flowers. I will always be grateful for the companionship she gave my mother, even if sometimes they got on each other’s nerves. Sending condolences and gratitude to Sylvia, and also sister Donna. We will miss Pat very much. - Posted by: Linda Zacharias (Friend) on: Nov 07, 2020
