I just learned of Ernie’s passing, condolences to Eileen, Darcie and family. As a childhood/teenage friend of Darcie, I knew Ernie (Mr. Single to me) as a quiet steady man who always put his family first. Whether it was driving us to pick up cinnamon buns for a sleepover or enduring a disco dance party in the basement - he was up for it. - Posted by: Kim Wilford (Friend ) on: Apr 26, 2022

It has come to my knowledge that Ernie has passed. My sincere condolences Eileen and family. When you sit with one and they share their family through conversation you get a glimpse of their happiness. It was always evident that Ernie and you had a wonderful journey together. Prayers for healing and strength. - Posted by: Lynn Gmiterek (Coworker of Eileen ) on: Jan 27, 2021

My thoughts are with you, Eileen and Darcie. I know you will mis Ernie terribly, but take comfort in knowing that he is watching over you in spirit. Ernie was a kind, capable steady fellow-I am glad to have known him. Loretta - Posted by: Loretta Chapman (Neighbour) on: Nov 16, 2020

Although I did not know Ernest well, my most vivid memory of him is he and his brother Edwin sitting on the floor, leaning against the shelves in Single's grocery store, drinking Cokes. The store must have been open some evenings for that to happen! They seemed really old to me then, but I realize now, they were just young men. I went to school with Erwin, and we both became teachers. My sympathy to all your families on your loss. - Posted by: Jean Robinson (Fengler) (Friend) on: Nov 14, 2020
