RICHARD JOHN BOYD
(DICK)
June 26, 1940 November 10, 2020
Dad lost a brief battle with cancer his way; courageously and in a no-nonsense fashion.
Dad remained true to himself despite these difficult times; warm, loving and always welcoming. He kept his family on their toes with sarcastic comments and humorous shots.
With a click of his jaw, he knew he was right on a hockey or football play. His passion for sports impacted many people as a coach, role model and mentor.
With his passing, our hearts remain full of love and respect. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His memory will always be cherished.
Dad's ashes will be scattered in the Gardens of Remembrance at the St. Vital Cemetery on a beautiful day next year.
Thanks kindly to all those who cared for our father.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a wildlife or animal charity, or one of your choosing.
Dad, your laughter will always fill our hearts. Life is good. Until we meet again.

My condolences to family and friends. I heard of cousin Richard's death from a friend. Cousin Rick spent much time with Pat and Ernie at Falcon Lake. Brother Bob and Rick were close in age and when we were young the get togethers at Baba's at Christmas and Easter then with my mother and father throughout the years were the times that stand out the most. - Posted by: lynda boyd (Cousin) on: Dec 13, 2020

Bob and I want to express our sincere condolences for your loss. Having worked with Dick for many years I have so many fond memories of him and can truly say he was the best boss I had ever worked with. Family was everything to him and he was very supportive of me and my family in both the workplace and at home. He will be truly missed. - Posted by: Nan Mulvey (Co worker) on: Nov 17, 2020

I have great memories of Richard in the years we worked together in Winnipeg. Playing hearts, John Epps game with George and Marie. We had a small office party at my apartment across from pilot park before Xmas 1970. Dick was hilarious ! 10 years later a bunch of the old gang went to the Albion hotel and had a great time. Hayden wasn't impressed but again Dick was in on the action. Peace be with all his family. Terry Last - Posted by: Terry Last (Co worker) on: Nov 16, 2020
