  • So sorry to hear of Les's passing. Les was a wonderful friend to my brother Gordie. Over the years I remember with fondness the many stories Gord told me of his "escapades" and adventures with his good buddy "Smiley". No greater legacy to leave in life than that of being an excellent friend. The Eulogy Les did at Gord's funeral was spot on..and full of heart and soul. I will never forget it. Hope Gord meets him at the Gates so they can rock on still making Gordie smile. xxx - Posted by: Eileen Findlay (sister to Les's great friend) on: Nov 21, 2020

  • I'm one of those who just feel lucky for having known Les the short time that I did. I think anyone who came in contact with Les felt that way. Les and Kathi put up me and my friend Manny in their London flat in 1976. At ages 19, I don't think we could fully appreciate their hospitality, and I don't think I ever properly thanked them for letting us crash at their place like that. They were only maybe five years older than us but lightyears more mature. We went to pubs every night and saw concerts by Alex Harvey and the Streetwalkers in a soccer stadium, and by Eric Clapton at a park venue. That was in a week! His London friends treated us like gold because we were from Les and Kathi's home town, and I remember one bloke after a few drinks trying to thank us for sending them Les and Kathi. Of course, I also remember Les and his sisters Colleen and Carol out at Brereton Lake, and all the comic books at the cottage their parents rented. My sincere condolences to Kathi and family. - Posted by: Bill Redekop (friend) on: Nov 21, 2020

  • Kathi, Diane and I send our deepest condolences to you, Kevin, Alison and and Jennifer and all of the rest of the family. Les was a character like no other man I have met. He did indeed make a difference in my life! To live a little more free, to follow your own drumbeat and to get to know the people around you are my take aways. They threw away the mold after Smiley was created!! Peace, Love and Understanding, Diane and John. - Posted by: John Ford (Friend) on: Nov 20, 2020
