Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • When, in August 2005, our sailing yacht on its way from Greenland finally arrived in Churchill, Manitoba, we did not expect to find such a place. As we approached a lonely house somewhere in the tundra, we noticed a menacing-looking door with long nails pointing outward, and a similar wooden board with nails under the window of the house. A fortress in the tundra. But after going through the door (you're allowed to, because you're not a polar bear) you find yourself in another world. Boris' Kingdom. Hospitality, warm tea, a warm heart. We did not expect to find such a warm heart in this cold land. We will always remember our long talks and our walks in the wilderness. May he always have something new to discover on the other side, just as he had here on Earth. • I had the opportunity to meet and be friends with Borys first in 1987 and then as the neighbor across the street on Selkirk avenue. Borys was the one who inspired me to grow the first seeded lawn in Churchill. When I saw his garden I was amazed. He grew it on rocks covered with soil. So out I went and grew a boxed of lawn on Lavendrye Street. I watered it from the washer hoses in the house. My greatest joy was when I moved that lawn and had 20 or so kids rolling in it and getting green all over. I still continue to plant trees, gardens and of course grass. Borys was an inspiration to me those 10 years in Churchill. may God bless and keep his family. - Posted by: ronnie buger (friend) on: Dec 28, 2020

  • To all of you, may your memories bring smiles and always remember, Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us everyday, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear." Deepest sympathy, Tahirih - Posted by: Tahirih Roy (Friend of family) on: Dec 26, 2020
