MARK ANTHONY CARREIRO
May 2, 1984 - December 19, 2020
Mark leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Odette Carreiro (Dave McDougall) and Paulo Carreiro (Lucia Flora); brother Nicholas Carreiro (Katie Magotiaux); loving aunties and uncles, many, many cousins, as well as his special St. Amant family.
Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, a big celebration of his life will be held at St. Amant at a future date. Cremation has taken place and Mark will be in his mother's care until he can be laid in his final resting place with his Avos. In the meantime, Mark's family kindly requests that his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by visiting his tribute page at EthicalDeathCare.com. A photo-biography, as well as memories and stories published by those who knew him, are available there.

My Dearest Odette, Paulo, Nick(y), Aida, Cecelia, David, Teresa, Johnny, Carina, and Corey, and all their extended loved ones who knew Mark; My sincerest condolences for the loss of your beloved son, brother, nephew, and cousin Mark. I came upon his news article last night, and I grieve with you in heartfelt compassion. Mark taught us all unconditional LOVE in the existence of his innocence and purity because that was ALL he ever was to us in his BEING. Mark had never hurt or harmed or done anything wrong ever during his lifetime. What human being upon this earth would ever BE that?! What human being upon this earth could DO that? That was the love I learned from being with Mark as soon as I connected with him. Who can leave this earth having lived that?! Mark did, leaving his love mark upon us. He was a blessing unto us bringing us all together through him and for him. An Earth Angel who never in his life did anything, but be the love he was meant to be and still is, which is in all of us, right here, and right now. Creator and Creation blesses and rests his soul, and those just like him - Jessica another Earth Angel, and his Avos, and all of you who love him in being too. With much love to all of you, Rosamaria + the Critelli family. - Posted by: Rosamaria Critelli (West End Ghetto friend) on: Jan 12, 2021

Odette, Dave, Nick and Paulo, Our deepest condolences to all of you. May you cherish the memories you shared. My foundest memory when you visited here in Mississauga was Mark's smile when he would hear his mom or dad. When Nick would be running around and he would follow with his eyes and laugh at his little brother. I treasure that memory of Mark in my ❤. Love and hugs at this very difficult time. Odette, Dave, Nick, Paulo and his family, Our hearts are broken that Markie had to leave this world in this way, unexpectedly and so quickly. My words cannot express the loss of losing your own child, one I loved so much! Mark brought many people together and family bondings, from his physio exercises at his first home on McDermot, to parents picking him up from St Amant in the big blue van they custom made for Mark for transportation, numerous medical appointments, family visits, Christmas and birthday gatherings. Many had seen the courage and strength his parents gained while going through such difficult struggles in taking care of their son in need as Mark was not able to do anything on his own. Mark’s journey started with prayers for Odette and Paulo to have a little bundle of joy even before he was born and prayers continued for Mark to the end. But his journey hasn’t ended for he is now with Jesus and all those whom we loved and left before him, is welcomed by all in his new forever home, and where he will never have to sit or see any other wheelchair again! Thank you to the friends who helped with his childhood volunteers respite workers and exercises. I remember most of you. To all the doctors, nurses and staff at St B, and St Amant for taking such good care of Markie, and for the love and support you brought to him and my sister Odette, Paulo and Nick. May God heal the broken hearts and give you joy in keeping Mark Anthony alive in our memories of him! - Posted by: Ada Costa-Taylor (Aunty ) on: Dec 27, 2020

All though I never had the privilege to have met Marky , I was blessed with the opportunity to meet his Mom, through him, through Bidding wars for St. Amant. The dedication and love he inspired in his Mama, will live on and on. I’m so sorry for your loss, but your son , our Angel will continue to fly... oxoxox 💙💙💙💙 - Posted by: Marian Pace (Friends) on: Dec 26, 2020

My condolences to Mark's family and friends, as well as to those who cared for him and were fond of him. Mark was a member of my Wednesday afternoon prayer group. Mark seemed to appreciate the music and the company. Though Mark was unable to express himself, I managed to learn a bit about his family so I could include them in prayer on his behalf. I came to be fond of Mark and am sad to learn that he was ill and has passed away. I will continue to pray for him and his family and friends. - Posted by: Deacon Doug Cross (Former Spiritual Care Provider) on: Dec 26, 2020
