ANNE KRAWCHUK
May 16, 1920 - December 16, 2020
Anne was born in Dencross, Mb, and predeceased by parents William and Dora; five brothers, Steve, Mike, John, Pete, Harry; sister, Mary Walton (John); and niece, Darlene Walton. She is survived by numerous loved ones.
Anne was a loving, supportive, best friend and confident who enjoyed her life to the fullest with a hilarious sense of humour and fresh cup of tea anytime. She was a devoted family member, always willing to take charge or lend a helping hand. She enjoyed group casino visits, regular family gatherings and loved bingo.
Anne was a strong willed NDP supporter and former Board Member at The Knights of Columbus in Winnipeg, Mb, where she resided for 28 years. Her magnetic personality made many friends and good neighbours, mostly predeceased.
Thank you Heinz Kardel, her closest friend in the end, who she asked about every day, Heather and other family members who stayed in touch, Evelyn and Wayne Williams, and all who helped with her going away party at Columbus.
ANNE'S MESSAGE: "Don't Be Sad for Me.
I Enjoyed My Life."
Love you Aunty Anne xo

I have known Anne for over 25 years, meeting her when she was a spry 73 year old! Her love of family and friends was infectious as was her laugh when she enjoyed a good joke or story. We shared many a good time over a cup of tea, a bucket of chicken or sharing a pizza. She was always positive and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Anne's stories of life on the farm gave me a new appreciation for how easy we have it today. If there is one thing I could take away from knowing Aunty Anne was to look for the good in a person and/or situation. Rest easy Aunty Anne, I'll see you on the other side for a cup of tea! - Posted by: Steve Miville (Nephew in law) on: Dec 29, 2020

I will always remember the good old days with a big smile. When all the farm chores were completed, it was time to leave Libau and head over the the Krawchuk's homestead for the barn dance! It was great fun catching up with the Koltons and other families, with the Hladys playing in the band. A lot of dancing and even more dancing once we had a drink of that special coke! Remembering you fondly, rest in peace, Doreen. - Posted by: Doreen Samagalski (Family friend) on: Dec 28, 2020

Aunty Anne, thank you for always beings there for me whether it be for a pep talk or advice on gardening, baking, canning and knitting. I need more practice with the knitting and I will definitely not be attempting argyle socks like you made one year. You were a pleasure to be around, your calm, positive manner made every visit a fun time. You taught me a lot of life lessons I will remember and live by forever. They say that, " longevity is the gift of perfection" I believe this was you! I love and will miss you always. Heather xo - Posted by: Heather Makinson (Niece ) on: Dec 28, 2020

To Heather, Norine and the Krawchuk family. Thank you Anne for sharing a part of your life with me. I will cherish those times forever. I so enjoyed your company all those times at your home. All those suppers, lunches and tea times. Whether it was lunch at a casino or a trip with a group of us to Thief River Falls to visit my sister was very enjoyable. I also enjoyed listening to your stories of the hardships of long ago and how you really enjoyed your life later on. Thank you for all the information of our ancestors and the pictures you shared. I can certainly use them to put together our family tree. You were very special to me. Thank you.... your friend and cousin Kenneth Kolton. - Posted by: Kenneth Kolton (Cousin) on: Dec 28, 2020

Aunty Anne was a neat lady. I did not know her for a long time but was always welcomed into her home when Steve and Heather visited. Of course they visited her often while I was a summer visitor, but they always keep me up to date with Aunty Anne's shenanigans!!! Rest in peace Aunty Anne. - Posted by: sharon helgason (friend) on: Dec 28, 2020

Sending sincere condolences, I sure will miss hearing stories about Aunty Anne and Uncle John from their Niece Heather, especially all the delicious date cakes Aunty Anne passed along from Heather for us girls at work and for her Christmas cake recipe. She was happy to share her recipes and glad you enjoyed it. Know she is in our thoughts. Karen - Posted by: Karen (Friend ) on: Dec 27, 2020

To Heather and Norine and your families, Joyce and family, and Olga and family. What a lovely, kind and always classy lady. Never had an unkind word for anyone, always positive. Worked hard all of her life, was courageous, fought for the average person, travelled the world and brought back wonderful stories. Her door was always open for a cup of tea, a good political discussion, and reminding us of our joint family history. She had wonderful stories here too and she had so many family pictures of the Kolton and Krawchuk families. What a wonderful laugh she had. I am so happy she saw us all together one more time on her 100th birthday! Sending you love. Your cousin Diane. - Posted by: Diane (Cousin) on: Dec 27, 2020

When we came to Columbus House we fell in love with Anne as she was such a friendly lady and was always willing to chat with us and through that we became good friends. We put on her farewell when she left the building and as hard as it was to see her go we knew it was time for her to go to a better place and now we know she is at an even better place and we will meet with her again sometime. Love Wayne and Evelyn. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Wayne and Evelyn Williams (Good friends from Columbus House) on: Dec 26, 2020
