HELEN PATRICIA MCMURRAY
(nee HOGAN)
May 12, 1933 December 24, 2020
Helen is predeceased by her husband Bill McMurray; brother John Hogan and sisters, Francis Gordon and Barbara Reid. She is survived by her four children, Bill McMurray (Natalia), Linda Andrews (Rick), Sandy Labchuk (John) and Mike McMurray (Carla); sister Mary Lamond; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Helen was born and raised in Winnipeg; married at a young age, becoming a wife of a military pilot in the RCAF and raised her children while stationed in Germany, which provided her much adventure, travel and excitement for many years. She was a woman of style and grace; a devoted mother and known affectionately as Momski. Loving, tenacious, fiercely independent, a great sense of humour, Helen embraced life to the fullest. She loved to travel, vacationing in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica and most of all enjoyed her time spent at Dock on The Bay in Long Boat Key, Florida. There she spent time with family, taking long walks on the beach, collecting shells and became a well-loved part of the Dock on the Bay community. Helen was a very social person who loved to entertain, hosting many unforgettable dinner parties. She also loved gardening and could be found enjoying her time at home planting flowers and vegetable gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and compassion Helen received.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place once restrictions have been lifted.

Auntie Helen was soft spoken and kind with a twist of sassy. She and my mother, Barbara were very close - my mom being her big sister. Prior to her getting married to Uncle Bill, she lived with our family. Once she and her family moved back to Winnipeg from living in various Canadian cities and abroad our families rekindled our relationships. We had much fun over these years. Auntie Helen will always be held close in my heart. My sincere condolences to Bill, Natalia, Linda, Rick, Sandy, John, Mike, Carla and families. - Posted by: Barbara Read (niece) on: Jan 22, 2021
